IMPORTANT ANNOUNCMENTS

Congratulations are in order for our Irondale Band Program!!!

The band performed for the Alabama Bandmasters Asoociation State Music Performance Assessment and was spectacular in every way! The band performed three music selections In evaluations. The band then had to perform a selection at sight (the students have never seen).

The band was awarded The highest honor that can be achieved... STRAIGHT SUPERIORS WITH DISTINCTION. This means that the band received all A's on their report card from each and every judge! This honor is only achieved by a very small number of bands and our students did fabulously! The students were also commended by many about how wonderful they were throughout the entire process. Mrs. Turner is very proud of the students and thanks the band parent volunteers for their help with this trip!!!

All-state auditions went well. We want to congratulate Lian Remley on oboe and Nigel Cathey on Trumpet for their selection the the All-District Honor Band and Lian to the first chair in the All-State band! Irondale Middle School was the only Jeffco middle school to have  two students selected from the same school!

The band is currently working on their performance for the State MPA on March 7th at Hewitt-Trussville HS. We will need chaperones for this event during the school day.

The band room will be open on Tuesdays until 4:30 for students to receive extra help or to have small group practice.

Our students are currently signing up to perform at the solo/ensemble competition first Saturday in May.
